Severe Cyclonic Storm “PHAILIN”
Affected States : Odisha & Andhra Pradesh
The very severe cyclonic storm, PHAILIN over
east central Bay of Bengal moved westwards and expected to hit by
evening of 12th October, 2013 as a very severe cyclonic storm with a
maximum sustained wind speed of 190-200 kmph.
Around
12 million people may be affected, 600 buildings have been identified
as cyclone shelters, and people are being evacuated from areas near the
coast, including Ganjam, Puri, Khordha and Jagatsinghapur districts in
Odisha

safer places as 'super cyclone' Phailin is expected to hit the Bay of
Bengal coast between Srikakulam and Gopalpur in Odisha by 12th October 2013 evening
